Interest
As a practicing dentist since 2008, I could experience both paediatric and general dentistry as well as public and private dentistry. Prevention is a key element in the case of a chronic disease like dental caries. The caries burden is significant among children. In my opinion, the children are vulnerable, but they can be very cooperative and fast-learners at the same time in case of dental caries prevention. The early development of good habits and willingness to reach good oral hygiene is also the base of effective (and even cost-effective) future dental treatments. This is why I am interested in this field of preventive medicine.
I hope with my study we can identify the practices that work in Europe, learn more about the financial background of public dental treatments and discover the effective monitoring systems – which can help us to get more transparent and comparable data in the future.
