Caries Policy in the European Union

Project aim

This PhD research aims to discover and analyse the trends of caries prevention and caries management policies in the European Union. Such an analysis could help the development of good practices and the identification of the best models of policies.

We plan to discover how the the public dental practices operate. Thus we could discover how these preventive treatments are managed and how they are financed, and what the countries’expenditures on preventive dental treatments are.

The available information, our work can help to make the European Union states’ dental health services and policies more transparent. The differences between the protocols can help to develop more accurate and beneficial guidelines for effective caries prevention.

Our data can also help to show the financial side of dental prevention; how the state supports the preventive strategies. Finally, the correct practices for both preventive policies and financing can be defined.
